Questions before you ask for access

What does Elio do?

Elio is an MCAT study app. It picks your next set of questions or cards from your own attempts, shows the attempts behind that choice, schedules your review from your results, lays out your plan to your exam date, and estimates your readiness with its uncertainty shown.

Why is access by invitation?

Elio is in a closed beta. The founder reviews every request and grants access by invitation, and the number of accounts may be limited during the beta.

Where do the questions come from?

Every question in Elio carries a record of its source.

Is the readiness estimate a score prediction?

It is an estimate, shown with its uncertainty, and not a guarantee of any score. When there is not enough evidence, Elio says so and tells you what would settle the question, instead of showing a confident number.

Is Elio connected to the AAMC?

No. Elio is not affiliated with or endorsed by the AAMC, and it does not replace the official AAMC practice materials. MCAT® is a registered trademark of the Association of American Medical Colleges.

What does it cost?

$12 per month, or $79 for a 120-day exam cycle that does not renew. Both unlock the same app. Paddle is the merchant of record and handles payment and tax, and Elio never sees your card. See pricing.

Can I cancel, and how do refunds work?

You can cancel the monthly subscription at any time and keep access until the end of the month you paid for. You can get a full refund within 14 days of your first monthly payment or of buying an exam cycle, and within 7 days of a renewal charge, as the refund policy sets out.

What happens to my study data?

Your study data stays in your account. It is not sold, it is not used for ads, and Elio uses no advertising or analytics trackers. You can export your study record, and when your account is deleted, your study history, plans, notes and progress are deleted from the database.

How does the AI tutor work?

Each option includes a monthly AI allowance for the tutor and coach. When most of it is used, the tutor moves to a faster, lower cost model; when all of it is used, AI features pause until your next period. Everything else keeps working. AI output can be wrong, so check explanations against your study materials.

What do I need to use it?

You need to be 18 or older and have an invitation. Elio runs in a modern web browser, keeps working offline, and syncs your study record across your devices.
